BIKE / WALK- THE RAIL TRAIL- NEW PATLZ, NY-
The Wallkill Valley Rail Trail is a fifteen mile rail trail that
runs along the former Wallkill Valley Railroad rail
corridor in Ulster County, New York. The trail opened in
1991 and serves hikers, joggers, bikers, horseback
riders, and cross country skiers.
The trail starts south of Gardiner in the south and runs
through New Paltz to Rosendale in the north.
Enjoy Beautiful views of the Shawangunk Ridge.
Meet the Out & About event Captains at 10 AM at the
trail entrance off Main Street in New Paltz, NY behind
the Water Street Market. One group will walk and one
group will bike ride as we explore several miles of the
trail ( not the entire trail) . Both groups will meet
afterwards for lunch at the Gilded Otter Brewing
Company www.gildedotter.com in the Village of New
Paltz. After lunch spend the afternoon exploring the
Water Street Market Art, Antiques, & Edibles. Be sure
to stop by the Antique Barn the official 2008 sponsor
of Hudson Valley Out & About.

Third Annual Fall Foliage BBQ-
Minnewaska,- State Park Preserve New Paltz,
NY
The Minnewaska State Park Preserve is a 21,106
acre preserve located on the Shawangunk Ridge in
New York on US 44/55, five miles west of NY 299,
near New Paltz, New York. The park is managed by
the Palisades Interstate Park Commission. It is
primarily used for picnicking, hiking, mountain
biking, rock climbing and swimming. There are
outstanding views of the nearby Catskill Mountains.

Horseback Riding- The Nevelle Resort -Ellenville, NY.
Great for beginners or experienced riders. We will ride
as a group through scenic trails on the resort grounds
with a guide.
